Local Spotlight: Stressed? Go to BATL & Throw an Axe
Hundreds of years ago, axe throwing was a necessity in warfare to protect the homelands and ones you loved. Today, axe throwing is sweeping the nation as the new hobby. Those in the Detroit area can get excited because the epicenter of this exciting fad is just down the street from you.
At Backyard Axe Throwing League, or BATL, you can sharpen your axe throwing game with friends, loved ones, and coworkers. On this page, you’ll learn more about what BATL has to offer. Read ahead to get started!
BATL: An Experience, an Outlet, a Community
BATL was conceptualized by CEO Matt Wilson in his own backyard just over a decade ago. Having been passionate about axe throwing for many years, Matt decided to throw caution to the wind. Today, BATL has axe throwing locations in several states throughout the country and axe throwing has become one of the hottest after-work activities on social media.
BATL is much more than just a place to try something new, though. Matt created BATL to help people come together to learn, experience, and grow together.
Take Your Throwing Skills to the Next Level
If you decide that throwing axes isn’t just an activity, but that it’s a way of life, you can join an eight-week league. Make a team with your friends, family members, or coworkers, or join a team and make some new friends that are just as passionate about throwing axes as you are.
You can also celebrate your next big life event—including birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, and much more—or create a team-building opportunity for your staff at BATL. They’ll help you create an event package providing you with several hours of axe throwing, a variety of food options, and a private space for your group.
